"In 2010, I was a busy business owner, new mom, and just had a hard time getting into it. One day though, I stumbled upon one of the very first Facebook business pages, it was for Walgreen's Pharmacy. It looked like a micro-website, but with one major difference—customers were communicating with them—publicly. Letting Walgreen's and the entire world know what they liked, what they didn't like. It was instant, actionable feedback AND an entirely new concept in marketing at the time; their customers were turning their friends into customers. Their customers were SELLING their product for them. My mind was blown. In all my years in marketing, I had not seen ANYTHING as powerful as this. I knew in that moment, that marketing as we know it, was on the brink of being changed forever and I wanted to be a part of it."
